Melted plastic issue

Just got my 07 500 and love every bit of it but noticed the plastic over the exhaust has melted. The dealer was more than willing to correct the issue, only has 11 hours on it. He says 2nd time seeing this and it's not common, anyone else have similar issue and what was the fix? More heat shield?

Heat Tape and the dealer fixed most of it.

heat tape will trap moisture and cause the pipe to rust over time though, kindo a crap fix IMO. i've heard of ceramic coating the pipe will keep it from rusting before heat tapeing a pipe. it would take awhile for stainless to rust though.

heck i just thought about that- they may be heat tapeing the plastic where it is melting, that would be great if so. instead of the pipe like i was thinking.
