Price County offers the ATV enthusiast five recreation areas with additional connecting trails and town roads. Most of the trail systems have rustic rest sites available, while others allow direct access to food, lodging and services.

The Pine Line Rail Trail and the Flambeau Trail System are open for winter ATVing.

Very good progress has been made on the Georgetown ATV trail/route that begins in the Kennan area and ends near Carpenter Creek Road and the resort areas on or near Soo Lake in the town of Elk.

Although the Georgetown Trail has not been completed to Carpenter Creek Road, it will be opened and dedicated soon and handed over from the county to the Southern Price County ATV Club for maintenance. The county has applied for funds to complete this trail to Carpenter Creek Road.

After an advisory referendum on April 3, the Elk town board has agreed to open a 1-3/4-mile stretch of Carpenter Creek to ATV traffic that will allow ATVers to get to the resort areas for food and gasoline. This endeavor represents excellent cooperation between the ATV Association, the citizens of Elk for approving the referendum, and the Elk town board. When this route is open, we ask all ATV riders to adhere to all the rules and make this a safe and enjoyable venture.

Negotiations are underway between the ATV Association, the county, and the U.S. Forest Service in Park Falls to complete an ATV trail/route from the major ATV trails in the Sailor Lake area to a trailhead and parking lot just off Solberg Lake Road near resort areas on the western side of Solberg Lake. The county plans to begin construction of their part of the trail as soon as the U.S. Forest Service plans their portion from FR 508 to county land. The forest service will begin the project once all the required environmental analysis is completed.

Efforts are continuing to get ATV trails/routes into Phillips and to get the Pine Line Trail open to ATVs into Prentice.

The ATV association sincerely appreciates the efforts of all parties that are involved in these activities.
