I've tried that route... ended up scrapping it and buying the Bayou kit...

I can seal it, I can secure it, but for some reason mine always ended up too close to exhaust components and melting..

It's not just the parts you're purchasing when you buy a kit... they test em and work the bugs out of em before you get it.. to me it was worth it.

Somewhere in the snorkel make sure and put a rubber coupler inline with it somewhere so incase you need to pull it off you can.Instead of cutting it up you can just loosen the coupler and take it apart from there.Also if you go through the plastic you can use a male and female pvc adapters and screw them together there.That will also help in taking it apart and will also keep it secure.

first you must remove the snorkel thats factory then you get some swimming pool hose and run it from your air box along side your gas tank and out side the tire fender thing which keeps mud from getting allover your motor{run your hose get a thing that will fit over the pipe and hose. i used a 2" pipe to do my rancher and ran it through myy fender{YOU WILL HAVE TO CUT THE FENDERS} the thing i was talkin bout is 3 pieces which all srew into one to make one big ol piece my {DONT FORGET TO RUN YOUR VENT LINES UP WITH THE SNORKEL}}}

{MY RANCHER AND SNORKEL IS IN THE GALLERY ITS A GREEN RANCHER
