| More Brute woes. If it isn't one thing with this damn thing..... it's another.
As most of you know, I've had one electrical nightmare after another with my 2005 Brute from the day I purchased it.
I just finished completing the "bus connector fix" before we left for Muddy Gras.
Well, after extensive precaution in re-coating the wires (liquid electrical tape - dry - regular electrical tape - conduit - more regular electrical tape... something obviously still rubbed through.
Tonight I was trying to install my new auxiliary lighting, and when I turned it on... nothing. When I came back a few seconds later with my meter and turned it on.... all I saw was a plume of smoke.
(as usual, all I had handy was a cold beer... I figured better to sacrifice it than an $8k machine)
Anywho... the entire wiring harness is BARE COPPER... and the Fuse box looks like a lump of charcoal... LOL
If I wasn't so used to crap screwing up on this machine... this would really piss me off.
Anyways... I ordered a new fuse assembly and main harness for it tonight ($224.00 - BikeBandit.com)
Any advice on installation (aside of the obvious "get a case of beer and have 24 hours spare time handy and a whole tube of di-electric grease) would be appreciated.
DAMMIT!!!! |

| Damn, that sounds like another weekend project. If you can't make the ride, we'll bring the ride to you. I'll meet up with DB, we'll grab the beer and meet at your place. LOL |

LOL, same old story.. Dang Kawasaki always broke!
I just was wonderin if you had any ideas on where to get a new harness from, but as usual BikeBandit saves the day.
I honestly figured it'd be about $1,000-1200.... I was shocked.
LOL.. just another day in paradise. |

| What's the deal? Water keeps getting in there somehow and frying the harness and fusebox? |

The first six months (before i modified the thing) yeah... it was a lemon.
Then I began building a doomsday machine out of it... it's still a lemon, but at least some of it can be blamed on me.
Three years later... it's a fire-breathing, ass-hauling, mother-of-a-beast from all the mods I've done to it... it's still a lemon... but at this point I'm probably mostly to blame.
Still a piece of shit... (albeit a loveable piece of shit) but... crap nonetheless. |

Mayhem, got any plans this weekend? | Probly leaving out Friday night and staying through Sunday... I just can't stand the thought of not spending the night out there!
Alot of it depends on the weather.... as I told Mayhem earlier, I don't mind cold... and I don't mind wet... but I aint gonna be COLD and WET. |
