950 Thuder Cat Is it for real!

This Big 4x4 Quad is a monster ! Anybody got one raced one seen on or Rode one yet?????Tell me about it! Some say they are jumping ship for the 950 cc! What is your opinion especially if price was not a problem compared to the 800;s to 700 class!

I seen one at Windrock Fall Jam on Oct. 18,19,20. They Tested in up there at Windrock about 3 months ago, but I didn't get to see it. Artic Cat did start it up and ride it around some, it was the BADDEST THING i have ever seen. It's just alot smaller than i imagined.

I seen them ride it around and it was BAD! The Can-Am guy rode it at fall jam and said it would take the 800, but not by a whole lot though. Every time he would touch the gas it would stand up with NO EFFORT.

The guy at the Artic Cat dealer told me last Friday that it had 68HP. I seen it also on anothe site. Not sure how accurate that is but it sounds about right.

Got these numbers off Nyroc site.

Here are the current HP ratings for the Big Bores. The info is from 2007-2008 certifications in CA. Most were in KW so I converted to HP as that is what most of us reference. Seems to be pretty accurate based on the machine reviews with the exception of the Cat. Not sure why it is down on power compared to the King since it is the same engine. Maybe the restrictive airbox setup??

These numbers are measured at the crank, not the rear wheels. If you would put your machine on a dyno, you would get a lower number due to losses from the tranny setup.

HP Ratings from Carb, listed highest to lowest hp.

AC 1000_________65.84 hp
Can Am 800______61.7 hp
Can Am 650______55.4 hp
Brute 750 Carb____50.1 hp
Polaris 800_______50.1 hp
Brute 750 EFI_____49.8 hp
King Quad 750____49.6 hp
King 700_________48.5 hp
Grizzly 700________45.6 hp
Polaris 700_______44.3 hp
AC 700 H1_______41.4 hp
AC 700__________41.4 hp
Grizzly 660_______40.9 hp
Can Am 500______40.4 hp
AC 650 H1_______39.3 hp
Rincon 680_______38.5 hp
King 450_________36.7 hp

muddgeeser. I got mine 5 weeks ago. I love it . I t,s quiet, smooth in the bush.comfort like a rinny. Nice job on the display. tac. mph kl. I did 71.8 mph in 4 w d on Lake Simcoe. It was poor traction. My son topped out at 87 kph. he can do 97+ on a good day so if you consider thah, this thing may hit 80 mph. It has instent power.good in snow.reverse rev limiter, with over ride, front wheel lock up. to get unstuck. Go for it. got mine from Snow City, HANS is The Man.

When they put that in a Prowler, I may have to trade in my Rhino.
