Can-AM should be the name of this Category

I think it is way over due to change this Category to Can-AM! The Bombardier name is going out by the wayside an hardly anybody still uses it. Most would say my Outty or my DS or even the Bomb !
Can-AM is here an is rapidly moving or positioning itself to be the Number one ATV company out there. If Honda or Yamaha changed there name I think it would be harder but the Can-AM /Bombardier /BRP has not been out there long enough to be a big deal an change the name.
It really does turn Owners off especially those with new Quads not to see the name change.

There moving to Mexico Duct Tape will be needed. LOL! Here is the link

Just giving you a hard time. But as far as being #1 not even close. I had an 800 XT for little while but I don't have enough time to type all the problems out that i had in only 4 months and 500 miles. I work for a Yamaha Dealer now and we used to carry Can-Am's. but we could not sale enough to make out good. but the reason they changed there name was to help out on sales. Atleast that is what Can-AM told us. In about another 5 to 6 years they will pick up I hope at least on the Quality. We had alot come back in for work and i mean alot. Most was water pump and front diff due to the Visco lock. The engines are good don't get me wrong but everything else needs alot of work. Can-Am will even tell you that at around 200 miles front brakes are gone,400 to 500 front springs are gone and the frame problems we seen alot of. If yo ride in a rocky area, a set of skids is a must. I live in an area with alot of OHV parks about 6 within close driving distance with over 1200 miles of trails. so I see alot on the trails. They have great power, but Quaility needs to improve alot. I have a friend that bought new one last March. He has problems every time he gets it out. Please do not get mad, I'm not bashing, just stateing what i have seen and experianced myself. I really think that the Mexico issue will hurt them though. I not saying that my Yamaha is the best or any other brand, but i have seen way more problems out of the Can-Am's. I hope your luck is better than mine was.

Not biased ! How long ago did you have a Outty! These newer models have greatly improved! Hect I hardly see problems with them no more than a Yamaha that I own which I am constantly repairing alot more than I could ever dream of with an Outty.
I was asking about changing the Name on this section what does repair cost or moving to Mexico got to do with it. I feel the same but only time will tell. I think it is more about competing for price with the Yamaha.
Oh by the way the 4x4 Outlander in the GNCC Dominated Yamaha Honda an Suzuki an will do the same next year with the new DS 450 sport Quad!. I guess that aint goin to take no 5 or 6 years! The Can-Am will be the best or number one in category after category as they come out with new models.Price is the biggest issue not Dependability, I think a few other Brands would be much closer to what you are talking about!!!!

2007 800XT Outlander. I hope thats new enough. All I'm doing is telling you what i have seen and my personal experiance. Just what i see first hand from a Dealer. I'm glad they won. I'm not stirring the pot either. Just left me with a BAD experiance after working for them and still couldn't get stuff covered under warranty. YOU would have that same feeling. Just good luck with yours. BTW, ther motors are good. I would buy another one in a heartbeat if they get the Frame, Visco Lock, water pump, and Front Springs issue fixed. I loved the power.

I am sorry ya had a bad experiance. Did you frame bend. I know they are not meant for Jumpin an the problem was only part of the frame an was fixed in 06 . I love the Visco lock it is like walking only on wheels ! wATER pUMP WELL THATS A NEW ONE I KNOW THEY FEEL KINDA HOT BUT NEVER OVERHEATED!I think the X package will be offered for the Springs cause they do suck but then again depends on what kind of riding you do!
So what do you like an please do not say Grizzly with power steering an real 4x4!

I really like my 660 Grizzly. It don't have power steering. I also like Kawasaki 650i Brute Force. I mostly trail ride, but i have started Mud racing also. The first ride i was on was at Spring Jam at Windrock and tthe water pump started leaking. the front springs went out at 380 miles and teh frame was bent at 425 miles. The Visco lock went out at 125 miles. We fixed over 40 Outlanders with water pump problems 650's and 800's both. Over 20 frame problems and i can't remember how many front spring problems . teh front springs was almost every one we sold plus what othe brought in. The was no jumping at all about thframe issue. I jsu tbought a 2007 Brute Force 750 to mud race 2 weeks ago. it Dyno's at over 80 HP. It has VampireEDL's Hilifter springs,Dynatek CDI, Richocet skids, 2 inch lift. Bayou snorkel's, ALOT of Engine work. It only has 90 miles on it. bought it from a guy whowas having a baby and needed cash real bad. SS108 wheels, i can't remeber what all it has to be exact. I will probaly sale it later on. I only give $5800 for it. He was in a bind. what kind of Can-Am do you ride???

The Brute is an awesome machine. I think it is the 2nd best Quad out there ! I was wondering why you would use it for Mud racing over the Griz.

Back to the Frame issue what did you do to the Frame an what was the fix a new frame? The Visco lock mess up how and why and what was the fix. The water pump was it replaced or was it over heating an you just repaired or replaced it?
I under stand the Shocks!
I had a 400 sold it now upgrading to a 650XT. The 08 are 10lbs heavier an some say the frame has been Beefed up!

The Brute will eat the Grizz power wise, but i honestly think it has too much power. I'm honestly no sure what i did to the frame, it had skids on it. I just noticed it one day when i was cleaning it that there was a crack in the frame. They replaced the whole frame. The Visco lock never did work like it was supose too. it would wait way too long before it kicked in both wheels. One would turn about 4 to 5 times before the other would engage. The front end was just striped out moreless, they had to rebuild it all. They replaced the water pump completely. I had the Grizzly at the time, so i just Sold it to guy at the Dealer wanting a used one. My Grizzly 660 Has 1,300 miles on it. The only thing i have ever done to it is put 2 wheel bearings in it.

Sounds like you have some Issues with the Can-Am . If all that happen I think you would be pretty upset an if it was happening all over I guess Can-Am would be pretty broke because you also said Can-Am replaced the Frame,Water-pump and the Visco got rebuilt an Like I said we all know the Shocks suck. You did not loose anything but some time on your Quad which I know can suck.
I also know alot of folks even a whole Forum just for Can-Am that does not seem to have all four Problems or even two out of three of what you say happen to you. The problems very well may have happen but all 4 within 425 miles of buying it ! Sounds like you had a lemon or you have the worse luck I have ever heard of on any Quad or you took it beyond the limit alot or you are full of #*%@^%!
So as far as that goes I would not even want to be on a Can-Am Site or section if I were you unless there is another reason.

I really feel that this started out as just a request to see if this site would move up with the times an change the name as on of the most popular 4x4 Quad on most sites. If there is a lot of negativity about Can-Am an Mods do not step in to stay on subject I guess it will pull this site down.
My only thought is your comments are based on what you say an you admittedly work for a Dealership so I will take what you say with a grain of salt. I also no your livelihood is depended on Yamaha which I have seen do some vicious Advertising show lousy riders or what on competitors machines an say they are all that bad an then show how great they are on the other hand Can-Am does a comparison commercial that is real an they do not always win!
Be for real dude an go get on a Yamaha Forum an complain about Quads you only had for 500 miles.
I can send you to a site where most all the Can-Am Buyers like 90% would buy another an have had them for thousands of miles with very little problems. As a matter of fact here are some real Can-Am owner testimonials bot good an some bad!!!!!

Why should a moderator need to step in when a former owner of one of these bikes is giving a rundown of what all was wrong with it? This is an ATV discussion forum, not a fan club for any specific model, and there are not plans on having moderators step in and preventing people from giving their opinions, based on their experiences, as long as it is kept respectable, which is the case here.

Appreciate the suggestion on re-naming the forum (probably time to do so)

I hate that you dislike what i said. I not bashing Can-Am. I was stating what happened to me with my experiances. I was also being respectful about. I was stating what i have also seen behind tHE scenes as working for a dealer, what most people don't see. We have problems With Yamaha also. Sorry about how you feel about me and think i'm full of Crap. I have nothing against yoU at all. I told you that if they fixed there problems that THEY ARE AWARE OF, I WOULD BY ANOTHER ONE. My livelyhood actually does not depend on Yamaha. They all do Vicious advertising anyway, that is the name of the business, gettign someone to buy your product. There is a difference between complaining and giving an opinion. I have seen Can-am's with alot of miles on them, i said nothing about that. But again, i'm sorry you feel this way about my opinion and what i have seen. with all this being said, hope you have great luck out of yours. it was nice talking to you. I'm done with this thread since it has turned into this and being told i'm full of Crap, come on man. was i calling you any names or anything?? NO! I wasn't, I was very respectful to you.

Your welcome!

I was only thinking that the Mod is the guy that keeps you on subject. The other guy on here was changing the whole subject. my goal an the Title was done to get opinions on whether "we" should change it or not. All the neg. input that was written was not necessary for this thread or post! I did cartoons to keep it up or funny but good grief! I am a heavy poster on several different sites. I also have been very helpful in getting topics going that are very Popular an have helped many Atv riders an beginners out there . I started to just hang up this site when I got the feedback that I did , I am not a quitter an will be back unless You kick me off for speaking my mind!
Well for the most part I glad I got the mission Statement accomplished an I hope this site gets more Can-Am riders on here.
I will be making a point of doing more post probably for Can-AM or Polaris An yes I like Kawasaki Utility's too !
Yamaha well lets just say I have owned one for a long time as well a Suzuki an Honda !

O By the way this site has great Smilies an I hope everyone just has fun ! Life is just to short!
