Nope, about 1 hour on Saturday, right from the dealer to our property then had to leave for a birthday party. Took it for a single spin around the house today and hope to load it up and take it back to the property tomorow. The whole idea was to enjoy it since I took vacation this week along with my 7yo. Well he woke up sick at 2am (the worst sick you can think of!) so forget today.

Hope to be headed out there tomorow to drag a few trees around. I want to break it in properly and I can't see how. All of our property is hilly ruts, dry creeks, wet creeks and totally covered in downed trees from the loggers late last month. All I got is about 500ft of road frontage covered in grass, that is going to make for a boring break in and I know I will not be able to hold back for long.

Sorry to hear that your little boy is sick, definitely not fun!

Heck, the property sounds like a paradise ride to me. Through the hilly ruts, over the dry creek, in the wet creeks slopping around as mud covers me from head to toe....over the trees, through the trees and pulling the trees. Sounds like when we go to Arkansas after the timber company does a cut.

I LOVE those trips!

I guess it's all in perception and of course you'll have your 7 yo with you so I know you have to be careful.

But the rest....oh man, right up my alley!

Hope you get a have a little fun while you're on vacation

Go figure, no winch (plate is not in yet), the kid wanted to go with Momma to work and it's raining. I best keep it at home (Ouch!) for today since I may get too deep in with all the fallen trees covering the trails. Weather for tomorow is dry so I can shoot for then, the plate is coming in tomorow or Friday so I better start searching for a winch. Those trees some of which have been de-barked get really slipery when wet and all that is exposed is the bare wood. I won't melt so I guess I'll head out there and "tramp" it by foot with the chain saw, maybe I can at least cut a few of the trees in 2 or 3 and move them to the side for a path.

Yep, couple of hours of work riding with about 15 minutes of "testing myself and the rig". it does well. I was only able to FAIL at one climb out of the basement to the side yard. Yes basement, no rock or walls yet but it's been dug out and semi-rock so I can't hurt it. It was a little too vertical for the quad but I could have probably done it with a running start except for a backhoe that was in the way. I went topside and was able to do it the other way without trouble.

Very little mud, it rained hard last night but we are so dry that it all soaked up so it was all work and no fun. Strapped the chainsaw on and went out to the trails, I walked it chainsaw in hand and the wife followed on the quad. I tossed all the trunks and branches to the side clearing out a path for her and the new addition to the family, a Kubota L3400 Front End Loader! We stopped there on the way to the property and she said just get it I can make due without a new truck for another few years, I should have it by the end of next week. Rake/Grapple/Loader/Chipper I should have all the trails cleared in 2-3 months then I can start dealing with the stumps. Maybe by then I can get a backhoe for it.

Wow.....With all that, I bet it's gonna look great when you get all finished with the land.

So when is the wife going to get her "own" quad?

Don't know but it will not be soon. Having just bought 27 acres, building a new house, a new ATV, a new Tractor and still carrying 2 morgages back in Flordia with only one rented out it's going to be tough. Not to mention a new baby on the way she is going to have little if any time, me too.

Just bought a new 450 in Green and I can't wait to pick it up on Wednesday! Luckily the only thing that keeps me really busy is building a new house, keeping my lovely wife of two months happy and raising a 6 month old...... Brittany Spaniel. No kids for us - just more toys. I give credit to those with kids that can still find spare time.

Happy trails
