how deep do you need a snorkel in?

Anything that would be close to your OEM snorkel, which should come out right by your gas tank by the front of the seat. Check where all of your vent tubes and snorkels (air box, transmission breather, brake vents etc...) come out. As long as your not that deep you don't need to worry about it. I've got mine snorkled mostly for safety just in case I hit a hole sometime, okay okay so I like to play in the mud so sue me. Actually I really don't go deeper than the guys who don't have snorkels, I just like the insurance.

The first time you go into a hole... and utter the immortal words "OH ****" that's how deep.

(usually 28-36" depending on the bike)

on a grizz 350... i'd say close to 30"

thanks i dont really go that deep but i have a lake behind my house so i was just wondering i go about 16-20

Just keep an eye on your differential fluids... anything over the tops of them and (if the seals aren't up to snuff) you can get water in them.

If so, the diff fluid will have a milky look to it shortly after a ride.
