Rick Hansen presented an Argo Avenger all-terrain vehicle to the Lion Max Simms Memorial Camp of Bishop’s Falls this afternoon.
Hansen is known for his work with people with spinal cord injuries since his Man in Motion tour around the world 20 years ago. He met with Lions Club members and camp manager Corinna Anderson in front of the St. John’s Convention Centre, where he presented them with the keys to the vehicle.
The vehicle will allow camp participants with spinal cord injuries to reach wilderness areas previously inaccessible to them by wheelchair.
