I think the best turkey I have eaten has been cooked by me. I can't cook, but I am dangerous with a smoker

I like to marinate the turkey for a few hours (with whatever you want), even inject it with the marinade.

Put it in a heavy grade disposable aluminum pan, and put in the smoker for about 30 minutes.

After that, seal it up completely with aluminum foil and just maintain the temperature of the smoker at around 150-175 degrees for 18-24 hours.

No need to carve this bird, it will just fall apart, and none of it will be dry.

Fried is my second favorite.

Best I ever had was deep pit turkey.
Best I ever made was baked over night with oven set at 170. It was seasoned under the skin, stuck in a turkey bag full of garlic, onions, peppers and other aromatics then browned the next morning. Sucker was juicier than a couple of virgins on prom night and the meat fell off the bones easier than gettin a woman to eat chocolate.

It's our tradition to bake our turkeys in the oven.

My wife did one this weekend (she bought the ones they package just the breasts) and injected it with seasoning and stuck it in a crock pot.... it was excellent... so good in fact that we're doing the same thing thanksgiving day.

Ride Safe,

Chuck
