| Firearms And ATV's I found this interesting, I was looking through some of the rules and regulations here in Oregon and came across this,
" It is illegal to carry a loaded gun (long gun or handgun) on an atv or a snowmobile. CHL holders ARE NOT exempt. If you are carrying a bow, all arrows must be in a quiver." I was wondering how many other states have laws similar to this and any thoughts on this subject. |

| There was a law passed here last year in Mississippi that a rifle has to be in a case that is mounted on the atv. The only hunting that I do anymore is with two rifles that no one makes cases for that can be mounted on a atv and since I only predator hunt on our own property I don't worry about it. I do transport my rifles around on my atv in a Eagle Industries soft case strapped to my front rack and the only times that my firearms are ever unloaded is when I am out of ammo. |

| Here is a pic of my primary rifle that I shoot mostly.....I have yet to find anyone that makes a case that this will fit in that can be mounted to my atv such as a Kolpin....if anyone knows of such an item I would appreciate it very much. |

| Man,
What is next, before you know it you won't be able to have an open beer while hunting off the back of your atv! |

| Well call me crazy. BUT, like driving down the railroad tracks, that's one I happen to agree with. LOL (Ground Hog Day) They are just trying to keep people from one, shooting game from your ATV and two, carrying a chambered 30-06 on your ATV-mounted gun rack and shooting your friend who was dumb enough to ride beside you while you were carrying that chambered 30-06. But, who am I to criticize? I've got the gun mounted on the front and a rear storage box full of beer. LOL |

| I do agree. No reason to carry a loaded gun down a bouncy trail. Just asking for an accident. Only takes a couple extra seconds to cycle a round. If that's just to long for you, it's time to slow down and pay attention to where that little chunk of flying lead is headed. You know, what's on the other side of your intended target? |

Nice rifle by the way. | Well since I only predator hunt now and its on my own property I don't pay much attention to the game wardens and law enforcement around here. I wouldn't part with this rifle for anything in the world....shot it in NRA highpower matches 2-3 weekends a month for 7 yrs and it shoots just as good now as the day that I bought it. Here is a group at a 100 yrds when I sighted it in last year when I started hunting coyotes with it. |

| Best long distance group that I have shot in a match with that rifle was 20 rounds at 600 yrds that measured 5 1/2 inches with the peep sights....shot a 10 round group at 300 yrds in the prone rapid fire stages several times that measured just under 2 inches. The only drawback to this rifle is the weight.
I have 2 M1 Garands and a AR that will shoot just as good but this M1A is my favorite. |
