Event Rules
EVENT PERTICIPANTS MUST FOLLOW ALL STATE, COUNTY, CITY AND HATFIELD-MCCOY TRAIL LAWS AND RULES.
All participants must be registered and must wear helmets, eye protection and sturdy boots and shoes. No open toe footwear is permitted. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on any trails. An adult must accompany all riders under the age of 18. Only one rider allowed per vehicle unless vehicle is manufactured for two riders. The fully qualified Hatfield-McCoy Trail Rangers will monitor trails during all permitted trail hours.

About The Trails
Registered riders will have access to all five (6) separate trail systems encompassing over 550 miles of trails. Each of the four systems have a trailhead facility with parking and bathroom facilities.

The Browning Fork Trail System is the closest to HQ Village and will be the primary trail for this event. From HQ Village, you will have direct trail access to the Browning Fork trail. The access is located in the town of Gilbert, which has adopted rules and regulations enabling trail riders to ride within the town limits.
Town of Gilbert Ordinance

Buffalo Mountain, Dingess Rum, Indian Ridge, Little Coal River and Pinnacle Creek Trail Systems and trailheads are available for riding and are generally reached within 45-60 minutes drive time from HQ Village with a trailer vehicle.

All trails are well-marked, maintained and exciting to ride. Each system has trails that are rated from easy to hard. They are marked as: Green = Easiest; Blue = Intermediate; and Black = Most Difficult. Much of the natural terrain in southern West Virginia is mountainous and rocky........but varied enough to give beginners to experts a great place to ride!

Trail maps will be available in your registration package issued when you arrive and check in. You may also look at the trail maps by accessing Hatfield & McCoy Trails - Home.

Daily trail rides will be available on all trails open in the Hatfield-McCoy Trail System. Access to each of the six different trailhead facilities are shown on the website Hatfield & McCoy Trails - Home.

HQ Village
This is the central location for many of the activities except the actual trail rides on various segments of the Hatfield-McCoy Trail System. You will check-in, register, and receive your trail permits and information packages here. Meals, vendors and exhibitors will also be in this area. See travel directions included elsewhere in this brochure.

HQ Village will be located at the Larry Joe Harless Center in beautiful downtown Gilbert, WV

Maps are available on this website.

Free event parking is also available near HQ Village for those registered participants who do not stay on-site.

On-Site Camping
Primitive on-site camping is available but limited, for $15.00 per night. The primitive sites are approximately 25'X35'. We have just 10 full hook-up sites which are an additional $10 per night, per site. Premium sites will only be reserved by phone at 1-800-592-2217.
