ASHEVILLE – The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office and Buncombe County Parks and Recreation will help kids stay safe this summer through an event Saturday at the Biltmore Square Mall from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Safe Kids campaign will teach youngsters the importance of bike safety through helmet fittings and bicycle inspections. Kids will also have the chance to learn about water and boating safety, Internet safety, ATV safety and fire safety among other things.
Smokey the Bear, McGruff the Crime Dog and the Mission Hospitals’ Air Medical Ambulance will also make an appearance at the event.
