(Nevada) 40-Mile Desert "Beat the Heat" ATV Run on July 28, 2007
The Nevada ATV-UTV group will conduct a 40-Mile Desert "Beat the Heat" run on July 28.
ATV enthusiasts are welcome and should meet at the corner of Trento Lane and Annette Avenue at 7 p.m. Trento Lane is about eight miles west of town. From U.S. Highway 50 turn onto Trento at the Fallon Livestock Exchange and travel about two miles No rest rooms food gas are available here, so you need to take care of all of that before you get there.
Be sure to bring extra fuel, goggles, bandanna scarf or dust mask, water, snacks and/or lunch, sun/moon block, bug spray and clothing appropriate for the weather.
The moonlight run will be in and around the area of the infamous 40-Mile Desert. This will be an easy run. On a scale of one to five this is a one. We will be traveling at slow to moderate speeds with plenty of stops.
The round-trip distance is about 40 miles. Radio: If you have an FRS radio (one of those little FM walkie - talkies), we use channel 5. For this run you will need working headlights, rear and brake lights.
