Cool Down Fall ATV Run a success

ATV and UTV enthusiasts from all over Nevada and California made their way to Cold Springs Station in Churchill County Sept. 23-24 for the Cool Down Fall ATV Run. Over 60 machines and about 70 riders turned out to enjoy the first day of fall in the Nevada high desert.

Cold Springs Station was booked, all four of the motel rooms and the 10 full hook-up sites were all taken and several folks were dry camping. A few people stayed about 15 miles west at Middlegate, the next closest place to stay.

The "Cool Down" lived up to its name with the temps dropping into the high 60s, to low 70s. The cooler temps made it near perfect weather for exploring the numerous trails throughout the Clan Alpine and Destoya mountains. The participants were treated with some of the best trail riding in Nevada. Along with the spectacular scenery and views, everyone enjoyed the comradery and the meeting and making new friends. Several folks said that the trails were great but the stops were better with a chance to meet so many new people who enjoy exploring the American outback on a ATV.
