Fall is in the air! You can’t tell it by the temperature, but with the kids back in school, the sounds of whistles and football helmets crashing together in the afternoon assures that hunting season is just around the corner. The beginning of hunting season means the Outdoor Extravaganza is finally here. This year’s event is on September 9. Gates open at noon. It is looking to be even bigger and better than last year. "In 2005, we registered over 1200 people and look forward to having even more this year," said Robert Bradow one of the organizers.
This year’s event will have gospel groups including Lake City’s Delivered. There will be lots of outdoor product vendors and merchandisers with their products for sale. We will have a pro shop here to tune your archery equipment as well selling that last minute hunting equipment. We will have a t-shirt company selling Christian and hunting and fishing t-shirts. Look for all the local truck dealers with their 4x4’s on hand for inspection as well as ATV’s and recreational vehicles, power tools and lawn equipment. An exciting addition to this year’s event is Lee’s Custom Service, Branson Tractors, and their PBR Bull-rider, Cory Navarre. "Cory will be signing autographs for all you bull ridin ‘junkies," said Bradow. There will be displays of mounted deer including a 228 inch Boone and Crockett buck as well as several over the 160 inch mark. Florida Game and Fish will be on hand displaying their helicopter and also scoring antlers for the big buck contest. You can bring your mounted deer heads and have them scored as well as largemouth bass for the Big Bass competition. RJ will have his monster truck “Kickin’ and Screamin’” for kids rides.
