Well I'm the proud new owner of this machine. I love it. Already have the new Warn RT 2500lb winch, ITP rims and XTR radial tires. Have a lift kit on oder, can't wait for that.

My next door neighbor has the 06 350 model with the same setup except different rims, same size however. We're both running 27's and neither of us are having problems turning them.

We don't ride in the mud too much, mostly on sand bars on the local creeks and rivers. We do plenty of deep water crossings, thus we didn't buy the ES models. For the size/weight of the bike vs the power on tap, I'm very happy.

This is my second Honda bike. My 1st was a 98 300ex. Performed flawlessly until I sold her. I'm brand loyal, but not a brand basher by any means. This quad has a huge competing group to contend with and my personal opinion is that this new Rancher will do just fine.

I've already winched my buddies 07 660 Grizzly out of a hole once... so far.

Just purchased my second 07 Honda Rancher 420 4x4. I was told when purchasing each of them that I would have to have a lift for a tire larger than a 25". I was also told that the lift would not be out for at least another 60-90 days. Is this true?

Would like to upgrade wheels/tires on both bikes, but want to know where I can get the best deal. Any suggestions?

xtreme atv products has a 2in. lift out. You dont have to lift it to get 26s or 27s on it.

i've just lifted my 07 rancher 420 and was going to put 26 or 27 inch tires on it how much power loss do you think i will have. I'm debating on itp mudlites or kendra excutioners? and are they both good tires?

Thumbs up

I bought a 07 w/ camo a couple of weeks ago to replace a 91 300 fourtrax. I took it back to the dealer the next day. I was having a temp problem and they "burped" the coolant system. Since that little glitch everything has worked to my satisfaction. It's a work machine mostly, feed cattle/haul tools/spray fence lines etc etc. It has rained here in south Texas for about three weeks so I have been riding in mud (not the kind most of you are) everyday and haven't had a problem going through the sludge with 200-300 lbs of cargo. Before the flooding I took it down the river a couple of times not too deep there most of the time, usually a foot or less at the crossing and 1-5 feet at some places although I saw it up to 30-35 feet deep on Memorial Day. Everything is stock at this time with a moose drop rack ,gun rack and a tach/hour meter add ons. Researching winches and tires for later. So far so good.

that question can't really be answered without more info. what type of riding do you do? how much? does your riding vary a lot or is it mostly one type? mud, sand, trail?

I will say this, I have 27" ITP Mudlite XTR's on my 420. I'm running 20lbs or pressure and they do just fine for ME and the riding I do. However those are also on 14" ITP SS112 rims, so the rim/tire combo is pretty heavy. Again for ME this is okay with my riding style and terrain. Now in retrospect, I'd have probably gone with the mudlites in a 26" size. A lighter compound tire and also a smaller one. There's pics posted of my bike in other threads. I'm pressed for time at the moment, but do a search for "sexy girl" and a thread started by me should pop up and you can check in there for pics of my bike.

hope this helps.

yeah i ride the comite river a lot. i usually put it at the Deerford Rd bridge. Some people call the road by Hwy 64 though. As far as Josh Guidry, I can't say that I do off hand. I may would know him if I saw him. I used to play paintball with a Josh, but don't remember if his last name was Guidry.

Why?
