Question

In your opinion, what is the best trail tire on the market for atv's?

Looking for the tire that is going to be the best all around for mainly dirt trails, occasional rocky areas (no major rock crawling of course), the occasional trip into some sand, and of course an occasional splash through some mud holes just for fun.

If this was your type of riding, what kind of tires would you want?

I'd say MudLites... but then again this is coming from a guy that absolutely loves the way Blackwaters ride.

Mudlites seem to be an all-around all-season type tire and do pretty good until you take em to extremes.

Ride Safe,

Chuck

I just purchased ITP TerraCross. Great all around tire in my opinion. Good option for trails and occasional mud.

I am happy with my lites on the bear like someone else mentioned theyre great until you start getting in the real deep stuff. The Big horns look like they would be a good tire too.

Swamplites are good, I have had 2 sets of them. I had a set of 26 inch on my old 600 grizzly and they did very well, they had the 1 1/8 inch lugs. I bought a set of 25 inch and put on my 660 the lug depth was on 3/4 inch. the 25's wore awful. 500 miles there was only 1/4 inch tread left and the was with only about 10 mles of highway use. But on the other hand the go REAL GOOD and are the TOUGHEST TIRE I have ever seen, they are a true 6 ply, not just rated for a 6 ply. They just have one down fall, no matter what size you get, they do wear FAST. My buddy i ride with has a set of Bighorns with 2,800 miles on them with hardly any wear. Mudlites wear very good also, but not as tough as Swamplites.

IMO I think that one of the best trail tires is the ITP 589 M/S, they hook up real well and also if there is mud on the trail you won't have to worry.
