| Take a look at mudbugs.
Loved mine.
Then there's the terracross tires.
No experience with them but they look like they'd be pretty good. | | | | Jan 23rd, 07, 12:10 PM | | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2006 Location: Tuscaloosa, AL

| I have 27in mudlite xtr's and I am really happy with them. They're more of a radial so they ride really nice when trail riding. I haven't had much of a chance to see how they perform in the mud since the ground is frozen here in Minnesota. Really happy with my decision. | | | | Jan 23rd, 07, 07:09 PM | | Junior Member Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: Sanford,N.C.

| I have a set of mudlites and they do alright, but they tend to pack up. Just got a set of 27'' itp 589m/s and from what I see they clean out fairly good. | | | | Jan 23rd, 07, 09:39 PM | | Junior Member Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: Southeastern Kentucky

| Hay folks, it looks like I am about to buy a KFX 700 twin, two wheel drive it has 22" holeshots on the rear. So my ? is what would be a good tire for trail, and the sand dunes ? 23/11/10 Maxxis. How much low end am I going to lose by going up 1" in size, I hope the V twin can pull sand mountian in Utah with these tires.
Thanks for any help or opinions. Rick | | | | Feb 9th, 07, 11:16 PM | | Super Moderator STAFF Join Date: Mar 2006 Location: Florida

Im guess you got the V-Force right. If you are going to run sand dunes only then try a v-paddle tire. They will give you aswome traction and will allow you still sling the bike around. All I ever ran on all my sand bikes were v-paddles,Sand Skate's by Sand Tires Unlimited.
Your next question about going up one in,it shouldnt affect it much at all if any really. You wont be getting a true full in so the amount of rolling weight wont be increaed that much | | | | Feb 10th, 07, 12:19 PM | | Member Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: Fulton NY

| Mudlites are our most popular seller for the majority of customers, another good choice is dirt devils. They have very good pricing, 6 ply construction, and they are not quite as bumpy as a mudlite. | | | | Feb 15th, 07, 04:28 PM | | Member Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: Minnesota

| Ok, who knows which tire that is good all around has the best tread wear? I spend too much time pulling and riding around on asphalt but want something that pulls adequately in snow/mud/trails. | | | | Feb 15th, 07, 05:26 PM | | Member Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: Fulton NY

| Bighorns are a very tough tire, I have over 800 miles on mine and show hardly no wear. They are not the best mud tire but they will get you through almost anything as long as you keep'em turnin. Super smooth trail-road tire, Awesome snow tire they just seem to float on the top. Sand also.
Last fall I got a heck of a deal on my Type 7 and AMS Swampfoxes, I haven't had much trail time on them yet to give a full report, but I Notice the ride is just as smooth and they seem to mud 100% better. | | | | Feb 16th, 07, 11:56 PM | | Member Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: Minnesota

I would reconmend the ITP Mud Lite tires the stock size but with the 1''1/4 lug because thats what I have on my Outlaner 400 and those tires work great. | | | | Feb 22nd, 07, 11:06 AM | | Member Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: Fulton NY

| Thanks Outty 400, the biggest issue is that the fronts wear out fast from the asphalt. And who has time to switch them out every time.

| i'd have to vote for swamplites. i have a set of 25" on my 400 and they are great, so good that i just bought a set of 29.5" for my H1.
on a side note the 29.5s are "blems" and interco has 8 more for $69 each. check out their website. | | | | Feb 23rd, 07, 10:50 AM | | Member Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: Fulton NY
