Well, here's what I found on the new ZILLA!!!

928c_1.JPG

Maxxis Zilla

Based on the proven Maxxis Mudzilla tread design.
Increased center tread provides a smooth ride on the trails.
Great traction combined with excellent braking characteristics and very predictable high-speed performance.
Very lightweight, yet durable 6-ply rating allows for quicker acceleration while maintaining Maxxis' legendary durability.

Bigdaddynate just got a set for his better halfs Grizzly. I must say they are pretty impressive as a mud/trail tire. Tread is further apart than the mudlights which will help them clean out better. I wish I had seen them prior to getting my Mudgears but that's the way it goes.

I have had a set in the garage already mounted on rims, Just waiting on Muddy Gras to really try them out. Just by looking at them on the rim they look very impressive. What they are is a smaller verzion of the Maxxis Mudzilla's. The tread pattern is the same but only has 1.125" lugs and not the 2.5" lugs that the Mudzilla's have.

I have a set of 26" zillas on my 08 Big Bear. I love em. They aren't very heavy and ride great. They will go through the mud really well and trail ride decently too. Would definately reccomend them if you like to ride trails/mud...but not the really deep stuff.

Thumbs up new maxxis zilla

I have a set of new zillas and they are awesome on and off the trail. I just went through a 3 ft. hole with them and they pulled me right out. I have a 08' big bear with 2" lift, snorkel, jet kit, and hmf exhaust. These tires are better than the xxl mudlites and clean out like a charm

ya know i've done some reading on these and can't complain about what i see. but my question is. How well do they wear? and how tough are they? i mean for that light of a tire theres gotta be somthin up. weather it'd be a weak tire or wears excessively quick. no one can really tell till i guess they become less....New

I totally agree. I am a big fan of Maxxis....I have had my MudBugs for almost 2 years now and they are just now starting to show a little wear. And I have been known to ride them on the concrete around my neighborhood.

I am thinking of getting some new tires for my 700 Polaris, right now I have some 27" Mud Machines on it and I am looking for something that will ride a little smoother do yall thing that this would be a good tire for me??

I ride in mud about 50% of the time that we are riding and the rest is trail riding.

i'm sure the zilla's are great, but they're to new a tire to tell if they wear good. plus there are good deals out there on the mud bugs. when i have to buy new tires for the kodiak it will be 27" mud bugs.

Trust me you want the Zilla, BigDaddyNate has bugs on his bike and his wife has Zilla's. The Zilla'a are better on the trail and in the mud, being Maxxis you know they are going to last as well as the bugs do. My next set will be Zilla but that's a long way down the road, my Mudgear wear like iron so they will be around awhile.

yeah i've been told maxxis has the toughest tires. but i just want to make sure i can get the best mud tire that can pull threw the deepest and muckist crap without putting excessive weight, price and size on them. i a alos looking for tread depth so if i go with the zilla it will most definitly be the 26" tire plus i just want a tire that can handle the unexpected, and last without puttin too much strain on my BB

but don't get me wrong there is no such thing as a perfect tire i'm just lookin for what would suit me the best. but i have narrowed it down to these two

Does anybody know if the lug depth increases with tire size on the Zilla's? I was going to order a 27" wheel kit, but don't know if it would be worth the extra $100 for an extra inch of ground clearance.

If I am not mistaken......The tread depth changes from the 25's to the 26's. But the 26's and the 27's have the same tread depth.

hey bringin back an old topic again. for those who have the zilla how is there reverse traction? are they equvialent to the mudlites meaning hardley any grip at all or do they do somewhat good in reverse?
