Best way to balance tires and wheels?
I have problems with front end vibration with a set of Carlisle ACT XTR 27x9x12 tires (same tire as Ducks Unlimited) mounted on stock steel Outlander 800 wheels. They cannot be balanced well enough to remove the severe vibration. I think tires may be out of round and or have a high spot. Also stock wheels don't run completely true. Has anyone had similar problems with aftermarket tires and or wheels? Do aftermarket one piece aluminum wheels have runnout problems also, or does the machining processes on these wheels eliminate this problem? I'm thinking of mounting these tires on outlander stock aluminum wheels to see if this eliminates the problem. If it doesn't, I will replace the tires with a new set also mounted on my stock aluminum outlander wheels. Of course these options cost money. I'm trying to solve the problem with a minimum amount of expense. If I have to buy aftermarket wheels, I would like a minimum offset on the wheels - just enough so the tires don't rub on the steering tie rod ends. I have an 08 Outlander 800XT.
