What size tire

Okay I've got a conundrum here. I'm looking at new tires and I've already narrowed it down to either the Maxxis Mudbug or the Maxxis Mudbug. My problem is I'm having trouble making a decision on which size. They are going on a 2007 Rancher AT 400, I'd really like 27" tires for the clearance I realize I'll lose a little power but I don't think it will be enough to hurt in the type of riding I do. My problem is the 27x12x12 are to wide in the back (the front has more than enough room for whatever size). A 27x10x12 will fit fine in the back fully under the fender (the 12" wide tire is realy close to the edge of the fender where it turns in so I'm concerned about mud packing up in there). A 26x12x12 would fit with enough clearance that I wouldn't worry about it. So my question is what are the pros and cons of 27x10x12 as compared to 26x12x12? I'm leaning toward the 26's at this point as I would thing the 12' wide tire would give me more flotation and better traction as I have an addition 2" of rubber on the ground and I would only lose 1/4" of clearance. So your thoughts please.

PS. the 27x10x12 are 5 lbs lighter than the 26x12x12

mostly for muddy trails - 26-12-12 IMO, or rocky trails or where higher clearance is needed -27-10-12 IMO

ATV Tires, ATV Tire, ATV Accessories, ATV Accessory, ATV Winch, ATV Winches from ATV Direct
Bias Ply they have a deeper lug. Got the bigfoot set from motoxmall .com with ITP Type 4 black rims for $530 to the door. This motoxmall has some great prices they beat everybody else by close to $100.

Why does it change my URL to basically an advertisement for them. If I type the full URL I get this MotoXMall
