| Maxxis
Got Maxxis OEM's on my Rhino... they go places alot of other's can't
Got 28" Mudzillas on my Brute (9 years old) and still look brand new... 90% tread left....
My father-in-law uses Maxxis trailer tires on his 24ft. cargo trailer that he pulls daily for distribution services... they're the only ones that hold up decent. | | | | Feb 21st, 08, 08:53 PM | | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: Springfield, GA

| aren't mud zillas one of the heavier tires..along side the outlaws. that sure don't sound to good for the ATV it's self.
what about vampires from Interco?
and the gators? | | | | Feb 21st, 08, 09:10 PM | | Super Moderator STAFF Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: Crossville,TN

| i've never seen them in action. i've looked at pricing and fittin. they would fit my stock rims and judgeing by the stats ive seen they aren't that heavy neither.
but from the ppl who own them say they are up there with outlwas. and aren't realy too expensive neither. But how is there durability? meaning are they tough than mudlites or weaker? | | | | Feb 23rd, 08, 07:28 PM | | boot boy Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Zanesville, Ohio

| well im in no position to buy new tires now. the ones i got are plenty fine but i constantly worry about the durability sinvce i've heard of mudlites weaker build. i'm looking for a tire that can hit the unexpected and unsceen object in the trail, as well as in the mud and waters. but i also want a good mud tire that isn't over weighted like mudzillas and outlaws.
like i said i am in no position to buy new tires since mine still look brand new. i'm just getting opinions for the future | | | | Feb 26th, 08, 10:23 AM | | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Charleston, West Virginia

Swamplites are good and their a true 6 ply. Mudbugs are great and their a true 6 ply as well. | | | | Feb 26th, 08, 03:32 PM | | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: Texas

| You've got to be able to start it to wear off the tread. Sorry couldn't resist. Quote:

| A couple of suggestions, the new Maxxis Zilla (not to be confused with the Mudzilla) is a nice tire. Same tread pattern as the mudzilla with smaller lugs. If you want a heavy duty tire for trail riding that also does very well in the mud check out the MudGears from Nebraskatire.com. I've got them on my Rancher 400 and love them, yes they are a little heavy (a couple lbs more than the zillas) but they are extremely tough and pull through the nasty sticky mud as well as any trail/mud tire, not to mention the price is right. | | | | Feb 27th, 08, 12:18 PM | | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2008

| Save yourself a lot of trouble and go with the outlaw MST's unless your going to be riding strictly mud. Any combination of trail, mud, road riding the MST's are your best bet. | | | | Feb 27th, 08, 07:28 PM | | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: Springfield, GA

| out of all the tires ive heard here i would have to say mud bugs apeal to me more. i like their sidewall and overall tred depth. not too mention there weight isn't that much.
i like swamplite's overall weight but i don't believe in their sidewall tred or foot tread pattern. i just don't see how their effective in the deep stuff.
i like vamps the most but they are only 4 ply, slightly heavier and don't sound like a very effective trail tire.
i don't know if i'll stick with mudlites or go with maxxis mudbugs. fourtunantly i got plentty of time before my tires now rundown. | | | | Feb 27th, 08, 08:17 PM | | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2006 Location: Royse City, Texas

| Swamplights Larrydatona,
I have a new 07 polaris 500, fill me in on performance difference from stock to swamplites. Are they lighter than the stock? How about soft and hard terrain? | | | | Mar 14th, 08, 08:45 AM | | Super Moderator STAFF Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: Crossville,TN

| The Swamplites are a all purposse 6 ply tire. Slightly heavyer than stock tires. The have a smooth ride and can handle just about anything other than 4 feet of mud. I have never gotten stuck with these tires. The wear O K, Just keep them off the pavement. I was totally amased wwhen I put them through different terrain and they performed better than I expected. My neighbor has a 700 sport Yamaha ATV and also is sold on them. Should you purchase Swamplites, let me know how you like them. I think you will be surprised
Good luck | | | | Mar 15th, 08, 08:11 PM | | Super Moderator STAFF Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: Crossville,TN

| ya know, the ride at the huntin club alowed me to see alot of different set ups and tires as well. i mean all my friends around here have either stock or mudlites. at the ride i got to actually see outlaws on the quads. and i've seen the tire online and stuff but you never get the full felling of them till ya see them in person. and to be honest i thought the tread on the swamplites was kind of. . . worthless but the ride changed my mind and i got to seel alot of other different tires. But i never saw any mudbugs. not a single set. everyone either had mudlite, mudzilla, outlaws, swamplites, vampires, or bear claws. shame i was wantin to see a set. | | | | May 10th, 08, 09:27 PM | | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: Springfield, GA
