Some Pavement Use Tire Suggestions

Looking for tire recommendations for a 2003 Honda Rancher ES, 2WD (F-24x8-12, R-25x11-10) that wears well on pavement. The farm is about 4 miles round trip from the house on a paved country road. Most riding is done in pastures(30%), plowed ground(15%), or on trips to/from the farm(40%). Sometimes used to pull a small utility trailer in the yard for hauling dirt or raking up leaves(10%). Seldom used for going up and down and thru creek beds(5%).

I would like the tires to be stable and wear well on the hard stuff. I was considering the Carlisle 489's and Mudlites (maybe a too aggressive tread pattern??). The current tires are Goodyear Tracker CL's and seemed to be OK, but was wondering if another tire choice would work better for my conditions. Also, is it OK to mix tire types/brands between front to back...possibly a tamer tread pattern for the front and a more aggressive pattern for the rear? Any other info would be appreciated.

Thanx.
Rellik

JC Whitney offers actual street tires for ATV's...

You could buy a set of steel rims (cheap) and put em on.... then swap back to more aggressive if you went riding?

Just the first thought that came to mind.

Swamplites are a smooth ride, wear average and are a true 6 ply.
So when you do go out and have a little fun, you will not have to
worry about the traction issues. Don't know about mixing front
and rear tires. But these tires steer as well as or better than the
ones on you machine now. They are not that expensive either.
