What do you recomend to carry?

I am new to the ATV and would like suggestions in what I need to carry for emergency tire repair. What type of equipment like pump, tire plugs, any other stuff I will need? Should I put some kind of slime in the tires? What is best? Where is the best places to order this stuff?

I plan of using my ATV for hauling cut fire wood, hunting and may be running a trap line. And of course trail riding.

Thanks I will check into getting this stuff. Are there any instructions with the plugs on how to use them. I think I saw how to do it YEARS ago. I don't remember how it is done.

Some of the items in my front tool box are:
  • A few various tow straps of different lengths.
  • Snatch block and shackles.
  • Folding saw.
  • 50' of paracord.
  • CO2 tire repair kit.
  • a small decent first aid kit with compression bandages, blood clotting agent and other various medical needs. (Never know if your going to need it, but it is nice to have just in case)
  • Emergeny space blanket.
  • Maps of the trail and area.
  • Ratchet strap and a couple extra bungee cords.
  • Mini-mag flashlight with LED bulb installed.
  • Leatherman Wave, just in case I don't have mine on me at the time.
  • Gloves
  • Some various hand tools to work on the wheeler if needed.
  • Toilet paper
  • Electrical tape
  • Duct tape
  • Zip ties
Those are just a few items that are with me at all times. When I go out on a trail ride other items are added like water, jerky, wet wipes, bug spray, spare glasses, celephone , camera and what ever else I think the ride might need. I'm still looking for a decent folding shovel. The last few I had broke on me. But I know the one I had with a few weeks ago came in handy when I buried my wheeler in the snow.

In a flat tire situation all I do is fill them with fix-a-flat and if you get a hole in your tire just keep riding on it and the hole will seal right up. It says it can only do 1/4 in. hole but it fixed one on mine that was 1 in.

Field tire repairs: So far I've fixed other peoples tires but not my own. I carry a plug kit and a small 12volt compressor with a light on it. Most of our local atv rides are at night so lights are important. Oldatvr 06 Rhino 660 green

Everything your truck can feasibly pull.

(If there's one thing I've learned since becoming involved with ATV's.... whatever CAN go wrong... WILL GO WRONG!)
