Help a Newbie, please.

Hello I just picked up a 2005 Polaris Sportsman 500 to go with my 1998. It came with 27 inch outlaws, and I think I am going to add 1.5 inch wheel spacers front and back, just for the extra clearance. With Larger tires like this, it is recommended to add a lift kit, or will it be ok. I have heard from others that without the lift kit, it puts a lot of strain on bearings and the like. Any advice would help a bunch. Thanks
Doflickie

I would not think that you would need a lift. Spacers should give you more clearance for turning. If your not rubbing fenders, I would not put a lift on it. Just puts extra stain on stuff. Just my personal preference.
