Kenda Bear Claw tire pressure????

I just got a new set of Kenda Bear Claws for my Foreman 450. I was wondering what the best tire pressure to use is. They are 25 inch tires. I will be riding in 1-2 foot mud, rocks, hard pack, grass, and gravel, basically everything. I noticed the tire said Max running pressure 7 psi. I was wondering if at about 5 psi would be good. Also I want to run a high enough psi so the beads will not slowly leak air like my Dunlops do now. What is your advice? Thanks a lot.

5 psi is a good starting point. You'll just have to see how they feel, ride wise. If they feel too rough riding, take some air out, but I wouldn't go below 3.5 psi. I have 26" kenda executioners and run 3.5 psi inthe rear and 4 psi in the front. These tires have a stiffer sidewall than yours so I can go a little lower on the air. If you go too low you can risk tearing the sidewall on a sharp rock. IMO

I agree with mudslinger828, 5psi sounds like a good start. Because they are not a true 6ply tire, the side walls will not be as stiff.

4x4mudjunkie, I'm glad to see someone get some BearClaws. I have a pair of (25X12.5-12) for my 2wd Rancher. I think that they are the most under-rated tire out there...IMO. Those things will last for a long, long time. What width did you go with?

Be sure to give us updates on how you think they perform and whether or not you like them. I think they are an awesome little all-terrain tire.

I got 25x10x12 on the rear and 25x8x12 for the front. Those are the stock sizes that came on the atv but I wanted a more agressive tire than the stock Dunlops.
I will give you an update about how they do once I get my atv back from the shop. It has been 2 months. Never taking it back to that place again!! Live and learn.
