Labor Day is fast approaching and that means a mud filled weekend at a local ATV park. We are currently running regular stock tires on my ..er .. our 250 Bayou. Mind you its only a two wheel drive but we would like to enter it into a couple obstacle courses. I called the local ATV tire dealer and he reccomemded the following tires and sizes. I would like everyone opion on what they think would be the best for mudding and also be okay for everyday use.
Currently have Front: 21-8-9
Rear : 22-10-10
Brand Recommened on the Front:were Holeshots either a 22-8-9 or a 20-8-9
Rear: were Mud-Lites 22-11-10 or 23-10-10
I like the looks of the vipers extra deep tread for the rear but cant afford $100 per tire Thanks Julie
Im not an expert on this but I do know something about traction and power.
It seems the viper edl's would be too much traction for that small an engine and 2 wheel drive. Im thinking you still need some spin to keep the power up on the bayou. 22" mudlites sound like the best... What do you guys think?
I had the 220, I had GBC Gators on the back 23-10-10, in first it would spin the heck out of them and even in second, and their fairly cheap, they have great pulling ability in mud, and are good on the trail, and wear great..
Anything over stock is gonna be a huge improvement. But if your budget is limited, I would look for used atv tires. You can get used ones dirt cheap. No pun intended.
