I want to upgrade the tires on my suzuki vinson 500 auto. Has to be good on the hard trail, but also need something good in the mud, climbing loose rock, creek crossing as well. Basically an all around tire,, any suggestions?
Also the Titan 589's are worth a look. I've got them on my Vinson, and they work great for all purposes. Also, they were quite a bit cheaper than the ITP 589's...that helped sell me

what would be a prefered tire for me. ya'll know i like deep thick mud, light mud, mushy, and trail/woods ridin. exposed to stumps, roots, rocks, and i ride in a near-by logging sire. i'm looking for tough and hard gripping, that cleans out good, has mediocer reverse traction. light wieght, sidewall tread, and rides good. i'll settle for a little bump but i don't want a rough ride like that of a maxxis mudzilla

i've looked up these tires and i am leaning towards these 3. i likes the vampires but they were too weak of ply and weight more than i was willin to add on. the maxxis zilla being so light sets me off to believe it to be a weaker tire (prone to punctures). i think the mudbugs will do better in mud but the 589s are a true 6 ply. i would like advice from those who have rode on these and what they would think woukld suite me more

Maxxis Mud Bugs! Mudlites the side wall is too thin.
If your running in rocky areas stay away from the mudlites, the sidewalls are prone to punctures. I've ridden with guys that had em and were always getting holes in the sidewall. I have the Kenda Executioners on my bike and love em. Tough sidewall and bead protection.
i have heard the kendas are tough but not my brand and i really am not intrested in their execuioner. if i buy a brand it'll prob be the 3 listed and more likey the mud bugs or 589s
I would not buy swamplites or mudlites. 589's have great foward pulling abilities but not mud side bite. I've never rode with anyone with mudbugs, but almost bught some because I have heard such good things. Mudgear are a good allterrain and are tough... a little heavy. Noone ever mentions Mudtrax, but i will tell you first hand that those tires are awesome. Great cleaning abilities and a tough tire. Will impress you in the mud and do great on the trail. To my knowledge, the biggest you can get is 26X11-12. That would be just right. Not too big.
i looked at those but from what i see it is forward directional tire and dosen't really have the "scooped" tread. but don't get me wrong still a good lookin tire. similar to stck rhino tires
I'll tell, they may resemble a stock tire, but they do very well. These tire would probably be in the same class as a MudGear, Mudrunner, Swamplite, Mudlite, maybe a Mudbug or even a Bear Claw. I'm here to tell ya, that I have ridden with friends that have MudGear, Swamplites and Mudlites and Mudtrax at the same time and of all those tires, I would have to go with the Mudtrax. Of all listed, in order, my last two tire picks would be Mudlite and Swamplite. I personally have BearClaws and Mudrunners and they have served we well too. The only complaint I have with a lot of these tires is that they are not true to size. I have never riden with anyone who had MudBugs, but even then I would still choose them over the ML and SL. Now keep in mind, that I ride a 350 Rancher 2wd and my brother rides a 420 2wd and of the 7 tires I listed, we've riden with 4 of the 7 on 2wd's. Now if these tires can keep a 2wd running with the 4wd's, then I would think that they would do even better on a 4wd. Just my 2 cents worth.
ya know i've been doin some thinkin. i'm really thinkin bout those 589s. the reasons, are is cause they are a true 6 ply, a buddy of mine has them on his 420 rancher but he has 10 wide in front and 12 wide in rear. i'd go with the 8s in the front and 10s in the rear. less rollin resitance and weight. anyway his turns them tire preety easily and i've seen them go threw some pretty deep stuff. but to be honest the things that i'd prefer is if thye were lighter (not like they ain't light anyway), i wish they had some sidewall tread, and i wish they was cheaper.
the mud bugs i think would do great in that bottomless muck but thy wont wear as good as the 589s and i don't know if they will be able to take the abuse the 589s can take. but i don't know still thinkin

The 589's are a heavy tire. They dowear pretty good though.
i ain't gonna go with a tire that big. lol
the outlaws are too heavy but i have looked at vampires but not sure i want to dedicate that much to mud. thats why i was think bugs, 589s or lites. gotta while to make my decission but like i said before those'll be my 3 choices
I'll say it again... if you are looking for a tough long lasting tire, then stay away from the swamplite. The 589's have better pulling power than the swamplites too, just not much side bite. Are the Outlaws that much heavier than the 589's? Just asking.
Take a look at the Swamplites. I can't say how well they perform.
I put them on my polaris and was totally impressed with the performance.
They are a true 6 ply and are not a heavy tire. Just don't ride them on
the pavement alot, They won't wear out so fast. Good luck with your

bootlegger you are right. the outlaws aren't as heavier than the 589s. 589s are just a few lbs heavier than the 589s, but the 589s alow me to go with a 8 in the front while the outlaws made 9.50 as their narrowist tire. if they made a 8 in the front and 10 in the rear i would buy them in a heartbeat. cause actually they aren't that heavy it's just the size they offer is what makes them so heavy. last i checked the 25-9.5-12 is only 26 lbs. i would put those on my rear with no prob but the front no way. thats nearly 75% weight increase on front tires from my stock mudlites. thats they way i am basin my tire weights by percentages. if i got with 589s or mudlites or mudbugs all i would gain is a maximum of 35% on front and 30% on rear. kind of corny but that the way i do it
i also went to the arctic cat dealer up the road just to see what kind of tires they are and what sizes they have and what size lugs. i ain't gonna get swamplites. really thinkin bout mudlite xls, 589s or mudbugs. i've got my mind set on them and i can get a preety good deal on them
