Tires for my Eiger?

Looking for new tires for my atv. It is a 2007 Eiger 400. Stock size 25x8x12 front and 25x10x12 rear. Will my atv handle a 26x9x12 front and 26x11x12 rear maxxis zilla on and ITP SS212 rim? or would I be better off with something like a mudbug in the stock size? Thanks in advance!

OR.

Reccomend me a good tire. I ride mostly hardpack to soft trails. A little mud after rains, rarely hit a mud hole, but I dont wanna be afraid to dive in. I also have to ride a bit on gravel and pavement to get to my trails. I need a good all terrain tire that will get me better traction than stock in a little strip mine mud....

Bighorns, zillas, swamplites are a few good tires to choose from. Bighorns would probably last the longest of the 3 and be the heaviest. The zillas and the swamplites better for mud and wear quicker if riding on blacktop. You should have no problems going up to a 26 inch tire. Here are the 27" zillas I have on my 500 max.

Heavier the tire, the harder it is to turn it.

So a 26 inch tire that weighs 19.6lbs front and 23.3lbs rear should cause little or no problems on a 400? How could I find out what my stock tires weigh?

You would have no problems with those 26 inch zillas that weigh that, or any 26 inch tire. If you go bigger you will notice power loss and need a clutch kit. I like my zillas but I don't run them on blacktop. gravel roads and mud only.

you can go bigger easily especially with zillas they are very light you wont have any problems with them you might even be able to go to a 27 but i would eed probly a lift and clutch kit

I think zillas might be overkill if you don't go out of your way for mud. Bighorns and the 2.0s are a good option too. Not many people talk about the tires in the links below. These radials are more on the sporty side and can hold their own in lite mud.

Yeah I'm thinkining bighorns. Blacktop will kill tires but I've heard these do better....
