Monster Truck Mania Coming to Lake Erie Speedway
ERIE, Pa. -- Lake Erie Speedway is preparing for its annual Monster Truck Mania coming up on Friday and Saturday July 13th and 14th.
This year’s event, sponsored by Gary Monahan’s Truckin 4WD Center and State Farm Insurance will feature a freestyle competition on Friday night, and Figure 8 style racing on Saturday night. The Monster Trucks that will be competing at Lake Erie Speedway in 2007 are Bigfoot, Snakebite, Devils Dodge, Storm Damage, Eradicator, Backdraft, Killer Bee and Thrasher.
Lake Erie Speedway will have a full freestyle course set up for Friday, including a boat, car piles and van stacks for the trucks to Crush. Saturday ’s figure 8 races will feature bracket style elimination racing, with two trucks racing against each other head to head for 1 lap. Racing will continue until only 1 competitor is remaining. Along with these high horsepower giants, both nights will feature freestyle motorcross stunts, ATV stunts performed by Tommy Quad, and a stunt performed by Crash Moreau. “This will be a great night to bring your kids to a family oriented, fun filled night,” said Lake Erie Speedway Special Events Coordinator Jason Scanlon. “I guarantee this will be the biggest and wildest show Erie has ever seen.”
Lake Erie Speedway will also host an on track “Party in the Pits” sponsored by Coors Light. Fans will get the chance to get an autograph from their favorite Monster Truck driver, along with photo opportunities. To get a ticket for the “Party in the Pits”, fans must go to their local beer distributor, and grab a case of Coors Light, which will contain a ticket to the party.
The front gates will open at 6:00 PM on both nights, with the “Party in the Pits” lasting until 7:00 PM and the show starting at 8:00 PM. Ticket prices are $12.00 for adults in advance, and $18.00 on the event day. Kids 12 and under are $5.00 in advance, and $7.00 at the gate.
