More than one hundred new laws on the books, including some that crackdown on underage drinking and drunk driving. The new laws took effect at midnight October 1, 2006.

Just because you're not in a car, doesn't mean you can't get arrested for drunk driving.

One of the new laws that took effect at midnight involves all terrain vehicles and snowmobiles.

If you're drunk while operating an ATV or snowmobile in Connecticut, you can now get a DUI.

Sucks for the responsible people, but should limit the injuries and deaths from morons though.

Something positive about this story

Also starting today, grandparents must be notified within 15 days if a child is taken away from their parents by the Department of Children and Families.
This can be beneficial to many younger parents. Keeps the family involved.

Haven't taken the time to read the entire law, but I can understand how a law like this would be made. Many immature people out there on ATV's.

Not a good law for the majority of ATV owners who do know how to have fun on their bikes, even if they have been drinking. I hate it when a law blankets everyone, but not much you can do about it. This is really no different than the laws on operating any other motorized vehicle.
