Fading into the rural scenery of west Polk County, Highland Park - a place to ride ATVs - is almost out of sight. But not anymore.
National attention was brought to the park last week when Suzuki conducted test driving for their 2007 National ATV launch in Cedartown.
Magazine editors, ATV journalists and Suzuki staff members – including the United States Suzuki President – all visited Cedartown’s Highland Park.
And what Suzuki and the media discovered was one of the best ATV parks in the southeast.
“Highland Park has been voted the No. 1 ATV park in Georgia,” said Paul Wright, owner of the park. “And we have only been open seven months.”
“It’s an honor to be No. 1,” Wright continued. “Some parks have been open for a long time and they have never received this honor.”
Wright said that the park is very well laid out and it is a one-way trail park.
“A lot of parks have trails that allow drivers to go both ways,” Wright said. “But our park is one-way trails only. That way when people ride they have no fear of hitting other riders, which has happened in other parks.
“Our trails are very safe and they include stop signs, one-way signs and we have other signs to help drivers along their way so that they never get confused and they are able to enjoy their riding experience.”
Wright said that riders have come to Cedartown from states as far away as Indiana and Ohio, and that riders from Florida routinely make the trek north to ride.
