Thumbs up

Until last week I'd never ridden any type of atv, dirt or street bike. I got a killer deal on a Kawasaki 650i and now I'm totally hooked!!!

I was wondering how much of an impact 6-ply tires would have on stability in off-camber situations. I've already rolled the new bike once (luckily nothing got damaged) and traversing sketches me out some.

I've been riding 50/50 fields and woods. The woods are tight and steep.

Any tips would be much appreciated!

Here is a thread we started a while back with some tips for new riders. Some good information, a little comical information.

Here are some more that were found a while back

Most importantly, just be very careful until you get to know the machine well. Avoid riding sideways on hills, lean forward when going up, lean back when going down. I would avoid any steep hills until have been riding for a while.

Do you have 6 ply tires, or thinking about getting 6 ply tires?

Thinking about getting them. I have stock tires that come on a Kawasaki Brute Force 650i.

I don't see any way that the 6 ply tires would cause any negative effect when you are riding on hills, and they will definitely help in terms of puncture resistance.

I would think that they would help cause they roll less. Don't quote me though. I'm wrong quite often.

Not too many people stick with stock tires. They lack in traction and stability. I have always gone with a 6 ply tire and 3 ply wall. The stiffer tire greatly increases stability in cornering compared to the 1 ply walls of most stock tires.
