City Sued Over Yankee Parking Death

November 27, 2006 -- The family of a man killed in a crash during dangerous horseplay at a Yankee Stadium parking lot has sued the city and Kinney Parking, saying he should not have had access to the lot.

The family of Juan Carlos Rodriguez, 22, claims in a civil suit in Bronx Supreme Court that he died in a drag-racing accident when a Yamaha all-terrain vehicle hit him in lot 13B in October 2005.

But cops say he was doing a wheelie on a motorbike and, apparently sensing that the ATV was too close, either fell or jumped off the bike.

His family maintains that it was the duty of the city and Kinney to ensure that the lot be locked.

Is that kind of like going to jail for robbery, getting molested in that jail, then sueing the person that was robbed? LMAO

MC..we had a girl try and sue us cause she got hit on somebody elses atv on my land.It had nothing to do with us but it happened on our farm so she came after us.She didn't mention that to the judge either,but he did find out.He also found out that she was drunk and the girl that hit her took the fourwheeler without asking.She tried to sue us for 2 mill.All that she had was a cracked wrist and she said she couldnt enjoy life no more,our investigator had some pics of her holding a drink dancing on a bar,that went over with the judge real good also.Needless to say she didn't get anything but a big bill from her lawyer

Drunk guy rolls his atv, tried to sue. He lost, but now nothing but trucks are allowed on the property.

That just wouldn't do... I think I'd sue the family for any damages he might have done to my parking lot.

Or threaten to hang his corpse from a light in the parking lot until they dropped the charges..
