What is your biggest, most memorable moment of being just completely buried in the mud with absolutely no chance to get yourself out? What did it take to get you out? What all did you break? Pics are welcome… and encouraged.

RRMT... probably around 2001

I was on a 1999 Foreman 450S, lift kit, high performance kit, warn 2.5, 27" Blackwater XT's.

I went in to help pull a guy out on a Suzuki Eiger (the guy weighed more than the bike)... and that was all she wrote. Getting him out was easy, getting myself out proved to be quite a dillema. By the time it was all said and done there were a line of 5 bikes tied end to end and they had to drag the bike out on it's side.

Honda Foreman 450ES,
Polaris Sportsman 500,
Polaris Sportsman 500,
Suzuki Eiger,
Honda Rancher 4wd... that's what it took to get the bike out, I was so buried that all that was sticking out of the ground was the top of the fenders and the handlebars.

Wish I had pics... but all I wanted to do after that was have a few cold ones and go home.

Luckily I didn't break anything... stressed a few welds that I later had to re-stitch, but nothing major.

Ride Safe,

Chuck

Alaska, 2 summers ago.
1 warn 2.5, 1 Honda 500, 1 shovel, several large branches and just under 1 hour. Just ripped my front axel boot and twisted up my bumper pretty bad.
Honda had to pull me back away from the bank of the mudhole. Had to dig out some mud so I could find my tires (stupid stockers) and put some branches in for traction. Winch was hooked 8' up in the tree to lift up the front of the bike enough to get me out of the hole.
Killed my battery in the process from all the winching. Even stalled out the winch once.

Last summer when I first got my bike back.Went on a ride to a friends plantation, well we went straight to the swamps and they started bogging.Since I just got it back I didnt want to dive in head first, kinda wanted to get a feel for the bike.Well after about an hour of them naggging me to try a hole I hit it.I made it about half way and the bottom fell out,the mud alone was over my fenders. What I didnt know was there was a cypress knee stuck in my a-arm.Needles to say after about 2 1/2 hrs, alot of bikes and winches we got it out.I got so mad that I got stuck that I hit it again, that time I did make it but also avoided the cypress knee.Came out of the hole, went to the truck and loaded up.After all that I was done.

last summer i was riding around on my wolverine (that i have since traded in, more on that...) and i spotted a place out in what looked like a dried up lakebed. It was dry and hot so who was to think that just under a crust that looked solid but was actually only about .5in thick. Under that crust was the hottest thickest stickiest and STINKIEST mud i have ever seen in my whole life. My bike got in there and bogged down...two nanoseconds later all 4 tires were slimeballs with cinnamon rolls on each wheel. The wolfie didnt have a low gear (not that it would have helped...much) and no LOCKING FRONT DIFF! That coupled with no winch (didnt figure i needed one) added to my dumba55ness about riding by myself "just this one time" equaled my bike being stuck for about 3 hrs till we ran into some guys with winches. and a shovel. and some wood. and a bunch of people standing around laughing at me. Yeah...good times. Oh and stock tires. Sweet.

Well I finally got my rhino stuck so bad this weekend I had to leave it.Went to my Ga farm to practice shooting like always and took my rhino so we didnt have to walk back and forth to the targets and back, walking 600 yards gets old very fast. After we were done I decided to ride around the farm and see what was going on.I was on my stock tires and all, friend of mine was with me btw.I went to cross one of my creeks there and didnt see a root sticking up.The root got stuck in my frame and we could not budge it.Had to leave it there and walk back to my truck which was on the other side of the farm ofcourse.I had to leave it there almost all day until I could get some help to get it out.It would figure that the day before I took out the come along i keep in it cause I didnt think I would need it to shoot guns at my range.Well you can bet your ass I wont take it back out again.
