NEW! Questions about a 50cc

I just picked up a 50cc by China Suzhou Industrial Park Yonghe Motorcycle Manufacture Co. Ltd. The kickstart is broken (I believe). But it has an electric start. It sounds like it wants to start, but won't kick over. I don't have a manual on this....I looked everywhere on line. That's how I found this website LOL!

I don't know the first thing about 4 wheelers. I have a motorcycle and was looking to get a dirtbike and start my kids out on a small 4 wheeler.

Any insight is GREATLY appreciated!!!!

Those things are touchy. Is there and idle adjustment? Is the spark plug good? Make sure you are pulling the brake lever back when you are trying to start it! GOOD LUCK!

My husband suggested the spark plug. I'll have to check that.

Here's a dumb question (since I know very little about 4 wheelers): the switch at your right thumb, is that the throttle? And the little screw, is that the governer?

Thanks in advance!!!1

Yep that is a limiter screw so it controls the speed. BUt you should be able to adjust the idle with a screw on the carb.

The kill switch is either on or off...how do I put it in the middle? There is also a button you can push in between the kill switch and the ignition button, what is that? The gas, I do know about having a motorcycle. Done that before!

Can you post a pic of the handle bars of the quad? We had trouble with an aftermarket mini quad and it ended up being the idle screw. But don't forget to hold in the brake lever when you try to start it.

I'll go take pics now...I'll get them up later...kids are all over right now  I've tried it holding in the brake and not holding it. But my husband says he really thinks it's the spark plug...he took it out and it has a thread on the top and says the it doesn't really click into the cap. Whatever that means! Off to grab my camera.....

and thanks for all the help!

Yours is different than mine. The gas valve will usually be on the left side as you are sitting on top just below the gas tank. It's a small lever, if it is pointing down this is usually on, pointing toward the front of the 4 wheeler off and pointing up is reserve.

The gas valve is the only thing I really understand...it's basically the same as my motorcycle. The gas valve is on the right as I'm sitting on the 4 wheeler on this one.

It's everything else I'm trying to figure out!

In the pic it's in the off position. But I put it on when I go to start it. I turn on the ignition, the gas valve, the red kill switch and try the ignition button. It sounds like it's going to start but never kicks over.

ETA: Does anyone know what the button is under the red kill switch? And is the lever on the right grip the throttle?

Is it some sort of choke? Did you get a manual with it? I am sure your kids want to ride it.

I have no idea! There is a choke on the engine itself. I got no manual. This was a trade! I had a loft bed I wasn't using and the lady that bought this for $300 didn't know what to charge someone since she was never able to get it to run...so she needed the loft bed for her son, and we traded. So no manual. I can't even find out how to get one on line. I google the manufacturer and all I get is Chinese websites.

i have same 4 wheeler

My son was given the same as a gift from his uncle. Used, no manual, etc.

Clip brake in locked position, red safety switch to run. Turn gas shutoff (on R) to point fwd, key on. Choke and it should start with throttle on right and start switch on left

There is also a rear safety lanyard.

I need parts for mine, if you find a sight, please post.

Plug is a good enough guess.

Tony

Thanks! That's exactly how we tried starting it. The people that had it running before took the wires from that safety button in the back and disconnected them.

I'll let you know what I find!
