Battery wires crossed

Hey fellas I had battery off and charging, wife put it back on and crossed wires. She said it just hummed when she hit the starter. I fixed wires and now have a atv running bad, missing, spitting and sputtering. Is there something electrical that this damaged ? Dont know whatit could have damaged???? Forgot its a Polaris Magnum 425
Thanks, GH
