Brand New Brute Force 650 Flat Tire with 2 hours

Hi,

I got a brand new BF 650 on Friday, I went riding today with some people and got a flat tire!
I was told I am extremely unlucky.... Sidewall puncture.

I don't even beat on my machines.
In fact people were making fun of me cause I didnt want to get my new machine scratched.

Lol

This ever happen to anyone?
Any chance the kawa dealer will throw me a tire, since I spent $8,000 there three days ago?

Thanks.

Sorry, but NO! I work for a Yamaha dealer. They will tell you its your fault, not theirs. If they will your extremely lucky. I did the same thing to a 600 Grizzly i bought new back in 2000. You need to get a good set of 6 ply tires. The best one's IMO is Maxxis Bighorns. but it depends on the type of riding you do. Just make sure there a true 6 ply.....not rated a 6 ply. The factory tires do not hold up very good.

I checked the air in the other rear tire, its under 4 pounds....

I don't wanna call them up and try to place blame on the mechanics for not checking the tires, but I will if I need too.

That constitutes a defect in workmanship, if you ask me.

I will give it a shot, I am to broke to buy new tires right now.
I was counting on at least not having to buy anything until my 10 hour service.

As far as tire pressure....It's their job to make sure it's checked and correct before it leaves the shop. Who knows...the mechanic might admit to not checking it and they will replace it. It's always worth a try. I have been ask to replace a lot of stuff. I had a guy wreck his the first day and come back in a want me to replace it....he said we didn't show him where the brakes was . This is true story also! So who knows they may do it. I would at least ask. Did it ruin the tire???

It is pretty close to ruined, thumb sized hole in the sidewall

it even bent my rim a little getting out of the mud hole I was in and back to the road.

So so pissed.... =p
Guess I need some fancy alloy rims and bigger tires now.
I cant imagine what one of those fancy alloy rims looks like after 6 months of riding.

I will post a reply and let you know if the dealer gives me a new tire.

Too funny about the guy wrecking, lol.
Some people.

the ITP & MotorSport Alloy Rims will last forever. I have never had problems out of either, even after long periods of time.

LOL,

Get this,

The salesman told me that my tire guage might read different from their tire guage.

I didn't bother to tell him it was the tire guage they gave me with the machine.
They offered to patch the tire.
I took it to the snowmobile place in town and we patched it from the inside and put a tube in it.
Hopefully it lasts a few months until I can afford some cool tires.

Can you get any ITP rims that are not flashy and chrome?

IMHO, the shiny allow wheels look stupid on a four wheeler.
I would feel like some kind of gangster rapper with some blinging chrome rims on my wheeler, like I was riding it in Compton or something....

Sounds like somthing they would say The one thing our owner prides hiself on is not being like any other dealer. You could ask any customer we have sold too.

ITP SS 106's or 108's are not too flashy. Motorsport Alloy Castlerock & Climax wheels are very good and not flashy. Try ATV Direct or Rocky Mountain ATV to get them from. Their the cheapest i have found. If it was me i would get the Motorsport Alloys. I just like their quality better. If you need any help in finding what your looking for I would be more than happy to help you in any way i could. Just let me know.

Thanks, Bootlegger

Thanks!
I will shoot you a PM if I need help.

What tires do I need to make it float?!?
I live right next to the river, and crossing it would be fun.
More so because of all the yuppie high class fly fishermen would be super pissed off. I hate fly fishermen.

Do I even really need a snorkel on the BF, the air cleaner is so high up.

Well, if it was me i would snorkel it if your going to do that kind of riding. It would be cheaper than accidently drowning it out and having to rebuild. Bayou Snorkels make a great snorkel for the Brutes. Your CVT will need to be snorkeled for sure if that is the kind of riding you will be doing. I tell you what #1Mudrunner on here has a Brute Force that he boggs with and he is really knows alot about them. Shoot him a PM and he can help you alot with yours. He's great guy as well. He has his own website. i will send you the link in a PM. give me a few to find it.

ITP and STI both make a basic aluminum rim. They both call it the Type 4 it comes in both powder coated black and silver aluminum. I think they are both made by the same company with different names stamped on them.

ITP C Series Type 4
STI Type 4
