I carry a trash bag with me so I can pick up things. It's never happened to me and don't want it to every happen but I have heard about people in mud holes and cutting tires with glass bottles in the mud. That can be very painfull to the pocket book.
We've gotten into the habit of picking up all the aluminum cans we see on the trails.... hey... it cleans em up, and at $.78 per pound it helps pay for the fuel???
I'm with everyone on this one!! If we do not keep them clean we won't have them.....
and for those who litter our trails don't let me catch you cause there will be hell to pay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess we are lucky around my neck of the woods, because we don't have that problem, everybody seems to be respectful. I can't name one trailride i been on where people didn't clean up there mess. And if somebody rides with us they dang sure better.
I'm with you all too. When I started riding two years ago, my riding buddies took me to a place called "Flat Rock", a beautifull hill top made of granite with water flowing out of it at the top. But looking around I found piles of garbage ,beer bottles, cans, food wrappers from other atvr's. Being a Rhino guy, I always have a cooler of beer, some food and TRASH BAGS. Most everyone helped out & we cleaned the place up in the lights from our atv's, and now do so where ever we ride. Its become a standard game now to who can 3 point shot the beer can into my rhino bed. Its' all good! oldatvr green Rhino 660, N.Carolina
WHEN YOU ARE OUT RIDIN... THE ONLY THING YOU SHOULD BE LEAVIN IS YOUR TIRE TRACKS AND YOUR OCCASIONAL FOOTPRINTS WHEN SHIT GOES SOUTH.
IM TIRED OF SEEIN THE WOODS FILLED WITH YOUR GARBAGE!
CLEAN UP AFTER YER DAMN SELVES. BE PART OF THE SOLUTION. NOT THE PROBLEM!

AMEN! WE ALWAYS TAKE TRASH BAGS AND KEEP UP OUR MESS AND EVEN PICK UP OTHERS, WHAT REALLY TICKS ME OFF IS BEER BOTTLES! SHEESH PEOPLE NOT ONLY DO YOU CAUSE A HELL OF A MESS, BUT PEOPLE GET HURT AND TIRES GET RUINED!
It's like most things in life, tell somebody not to do it and it will only strengthen their resolve to do it more.
I've been guilty of taking glass bottles into parks myself... HOWEVER, they don't leave camp. And they most CERTAINLY don't wind up on the damn trails.
Good opportunity to get a group of friends together to ride around on the trails and pick up some trash.
Then, if you see somebody littering, remind him how wrong it is, by beating the snot out of him.
went camping and riding in Mena, Ark. this last weekend, and we camped at the local swim hole. at one point there were 20 people all swimming and drinking beer. some drove cars and trucks, but some rode 4wheelers. after they all left we found all sorts off trash, cans, bottles, tampon wrappers, hotdog packages. all of them had ark. plates. you would think the locals wouldn't trash there own place.
