A buddy and I take our ATV's to Arapahoe National Forest in Colorado which is about 8hrs from where we live. We are trying to figure out how we can get both of our atv's and a camper hauled up there. I have a Chevy Avalanche. In the past we have just trailered the atv's and slept in tents. It is frustrating when we both have campers we could haul up there but haven't figured a way to get everything up there without having to attach a hitch on the back of the camper which I have heard is not a very good idea unless you have a 5th wheel which we do not. Any ideas????
one goes in the back of the truck right????? you could brace the tongue of the trailer and weld some angle to carry the other (sideways) if the tongue is long enough if not weld a long more sturdy tongue to it.
week rental is fairly cheap (300) and you dont have to worry about mileage, wear and tear, and if anything does happen, youve got insurance for like 3more bucks a day. Hell, for a tiny bit more, rent a uhaul, load the bikes and gear in it and tow the camper. shoot, I think that uhaul would even be cheaper, and once again, no worries about wear and tear, mileage, damage, all that! If you cant afford the rental, sell one of the campers. lol.. after all, your already having a problem using even ONE of them already..
Buying a new toy hauler is not an option... We do this trip once per year and were just looking for a way to get one of our campers up there along with 2 atv's. Was hoping someone had run into the same problem and had an easy solution w/o having to spend thousands of dollars on the ultimaterack, drive 2 vehicles, buy a toy hauler, etc.... Probably take the 25' Surveyor Travel Trailer and Yamaha Grizzly and Honda Rincon
i would take some measurements and see if its possible to let one ride on the tongue. you might want to put some air shocks on the rear of the avalanche, or helper springs. (air shocks replace oem and are adjustable.)

that was a good idear, but he maybe like me and think of cheap er free ways to do it.
-------------------------------------------- i forgot one my grandpa has a rack welded to the back of his camper for bikes, a big grill, and a tool chest. it holds up good and all the gear on it prob weighs close to an atv.

SEE YOU ON THE TRAIL/

We carry two atv's and my Rhino sidways on a double axle trailer, pulled behind an 01' Expedition. That frees up others to pull a camper if we had one. A second tow vehicle and a longer trailer is the only option I see. A trailer to haul multiple machines will always be handy-for this trip and others. But it can't all be done with only one pull vehicle-sorry..
Goodluck! oldatvr
Well if your truck is up to it and your state laws allow it you can pull 2 trailers. Truck=Camper=trailer with atv's on it. Use as small trialer as possible. All you really need is a hitch professionaly mounted on the camper trailer and away you go. OR rent a motor home and take the trailer. Since this is a once a year trip.
