The temperature might have been close to triple digits on Saturday, but the East Texas heat didn’t stop more than 6,000 people from making their way to Shiloh Ridge Off-Road Park in Alto for the 2006 Texas Redneck Games.
“It’s been a long drawn- out process, but I think we picked the best park in the country, which is Shiloh Ridge, to hold the event,” said owner of the Texas Redneck Games and Rabbit Creek ATV-RV Park in Kilgore, Oscar Still.
During the second annual event, participants competed in games such as a truck-starter toss, the Mudpit Belly Buster contest, a Spam-eating contest and a Redneck “Fear Factor.”
Along with the games, people also brought out ATVs and four-wheel drive trucks to kick up some dirt and have fun.
