| I own a 95 yamaha Kodiak 400, and a 85 yamaha moto 4, the Kodiak rides a little rough, but it can take a beatting. The moto 4 is a 225 not much power, but is fun to ride. question- what wires should I splice into for new lights on my Kodiak instead of running from my battery for power? | | | | Mar 15th, 08, 04:08 PM | | Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: michigan

| Currently I have a Honda 680 rincon and a 400 EX sportquad. Though the 400 is currently "under the knife." I think I have a bad starter clutch. With any luck by Tuesday I will own a 2000 Rancher 4X4, with no brakes and the electronic shift doesn't work. Big plans for that one. Think "deep mud," and no thought to the consequences | | | | Mar 26th, 08, 09:28 PM | | big bear 350 Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: minnasota

| I love(d) Honda, but they are really starting to bother me. Their goofy decision making and light years behind the customer needs and demands are rediculous, so... Here we go...
The lack of a locking differential.... I mean come. The only brand on the ,market not to have this. They tell you... just tap the front brake lever.... well thats just crap and all it does is create excessive wear on the breaks, as if they need any help! Just put a dang locking diff on there and be done already!!
Finally a big bore. Yeah the Rincon, they go and mess up a good bike by putting a silly transmission with a torgue converter... give me a break. ITS AN ATV... not a car... even though they are getting about as big as cars these days. My buddy bought a 680, then spent even more money ($600) on a gear reduction and even more on a $300 plus programmer (that at the time didn't even have a map for the Rincon... what a dummy), then put over a $300 HMF on it (how rediculously loud that thing is) and still after all that money spent on power upgrades, the things barely turns over 28" stucklites... I mean SwampLites in 4wd in thick mud. They should have stuck with the manual or electric shift that come on the Foreman's, Ranchers and the old bread and butter... 300 Fourtrax.
IRS... They will put IRS on a sport bike, but not on some of the smaller utility ATV's... I DONT GET IT!! I mean come on, even Arctic Cats 250.... yeah 2 - 5 - 0, has IRS and thats been done several years ago. Why dont Honda put it on the 420 or the Foremans and Rubicons. Dude that would be awesome. Arctic Cat has just come out with a 366 with IRS.
V-TWIN, where's it at...????? Plenty of motorcycles with twin cylinders, so why not put one in an ATV!!!
Look at the 420.. they went backwards with this ATV. How you ask? Just look at the rear axle. Now compare it to the other Ranchers or the Foremans. It's different. Not more advacned though. I'd say its more vulnerable. It looks like the old 300 Foretrax rear end.
How about updating the rear breaks and front breaks on ALL the ATV's
I've always owned a Honda, but come on HONDA... get your head out of your butt.
Thanks to this topic for allowing me to give my .
I have a 2000 Honda and it does me good, but my next one will be one with the stuff I mentioned above. What brand... I dont know. I wish the Gizzly had a v-twin and it would it hands down. I just love the sound!! | | | | Jun 2nd, 08, 04:30 PM | | Poor White Boy Join Date: May 2008 Location: south of the mason/dixon line

| 08 KAWASAKI BRUTE FORCE, I TAKE EXTREMELY GOOD CARE OF IT BUT HAVE GLAZED 3 BELTS SINCE SEPTEMBER. IT RIDES GREAT ON THE TRAIL BUT THE BIG V GENERATES ALOT OF HEAT SO IT SUCKS TO WEAR SHORTS WHILE RIDING. OTHER THAN THAT IT'S OK. I ALSO HAVE A 06 HONDA RANCHER 4 X 4 WHICH I HAVE NO PROBLEMS WITH IT WHATSOEVER, NEXT THING I BUY WILL EITHER BE YAMAHA, SUZUKI OR THE OLD RELIABLE HONDA. | | | | Jun 13th, 08, 07:01 PM | | Junior Member Join Date: Jun 2008

| cheesey front bumpers!!!!!!!!!!all makers guilty I have a prairie 650 that is for mudd.Vinson 500 to plow driveway. The prairie has belt issues once in awhile but it is a great mudd quad.I put a snorkel on it and a custom 5 inch lift with a big wheel kit.. The vinson i bought new and i destroyed it. The front bumper is plastic and that got smashed 1st time out..They build these great big quads now with a 1/8 thick plastic as a impact zone, whoever thought of that should be fired and deported.. | | | | Aug 19th, 08, 01:24 PM | | Bombshell Join Date: Aug 2008 Location: DFW TX
