Approximately 35 miles of ATV trails available at Lake Mackenzie for ATV/Dirt Bike/Mountain Bike enthusiasts to enjoy. Information and conditions can be obtained by calling Mackenzie Bait & Tackle. Each person utilizing these facilities will be responsible for purchasing a permit, paying the appropriate Fees and having on file a signed current Release form.

All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) - General Rules

  • All riders must wear approved safety helmets. All riders under 14 years old must be under the direct supervision of a parent or guardian. All ATVs must be equipped with an approved spark arrester.
  • Ride only on the designated trails and designated area for ATV Use
  • ATV use will be allowed only from 8:00 a.m. to sundown each day.
  • Please consider safety, both your safety and other people you may encounter, in all your ATV activities. Riding should be done only at safe speeds that match the conditions of the terrain.
  • Daily registration (at Permit Office) of all riders is required. Also, all other daily Fees must be paid.
  • All State and Federal regulations applying to ATVs must be obeyed. Effective January 1, 2007 a Off Highway Vehicle Permit will be required.
  • Failure to abide by the above terms of the permit will result in the cancellation of this permit for up to one (1) year.
ATV use is an important recreational activity at Lake Mackenzie. Most recreational areas prohibit ATVs as it is considered to interfere with other recreational users or detracts from the natural surroundings. Mackenzie Municipal Water Authority desires to maintain ATV riding at Lake Mackenzie; respect for the above rules will assure that ATV use can be continued. Please obey the rules and encourage other users to follow your example. With your help, ATV riding can continue to be an attraction at Lake Mackenzie.
