| The Boys Wheeler Seems Like I have to clean the lt 80 suzuki carb once a year if not twice which is o.k. I changed out the air filter and spark plug at least once a year. but the darn thing runs great for a while and then just wont run at all, this time it was the air cleaner, soon as I took off the housing it fired right up. I found out after I cleaned the carb and plug but was wondering what solution you all use to clean your air filter with? |

| We soak ours in hot soapy water for about 30 mins then rinse it really good and let it air dry. |

| I clean mine in laundry detergent and warm water, rinse, then let it air dry prior to applying the filter oil. I've tried the filter cleaners before. But, I always end up going back to the laundry soap. |

| You can also put a stocking (painty hose) over the filter. |

| Well everyone I got really pissed off and got the wheeler stripped down to the frame, checked the sprocket and chain, tran oil , disassembled the carb, and thought I'd just give everything a good look at. Could not get the spark to jump when I tested it against the frame, even though its a new plug, so must be the coil? When I put the carb back together I dropped hte float and busted it and waiting on float kit to come in the mail, but still need to figure out the spark issue!!!!!!!!!!! Cant figure out why everyone wants 160.00 for a coil though. |

| Did a quick on-line search and it looks like they are pricing the stator and pick-up coil and not the coil (around$60). Not familiar with the Suzuki, does it have any kill switches that can be clipped on in case the rider falls off? You said you are grounding to the frame, the motor is the best ground when checking for spark.
I do not use this site for anything but the fiche but it's the one that I have used for that reason for a long time so you can compare prices and look and the parts fiche (the reason I'm giving the link, and only reason) RIVA Online Original Parts Finder |

| Before you start shotgun maintenance, ohm out the coil, pick up, etc. If you don't have a maintenance manual, get one! It will save you in the long run I promise. Tomorrow, I'll try and research some of the checks if someone doesn't beat me to it. |

| FINALLY got a coil in the mail & float kit. Tested the coil against the engine and got the spark to jump! Put the the float kit in the same old carb that I cleaned and slapped it back together, the filter was clean the spark plug new and guess what? the damn wheeler still wont start and run. Now all I can think of is that the battery needs charged from all the tries of starting it, but its 10:30 p.m. and I'm pissed off and will try to figure ouit a new game plan for tomorrow. I dont think it will even pull start The score is 2 -0 for the wheeler and I need a fu--ing or |
