Question polaris awd problem Please help

Hi this is my first time with a polaris and on this site. I have a 2003 sportsman 500 ho. and the problem is when i select awd it says its on. but its not. i have purchased the service manual and i am not so impressed with the lack of info for this problem. I have voltage at the connectors for the front hubs hillard clutches. but i dont read continuity from the electromag coils. Also when in 2wd the awd icon flickers sometime even with the awd switch unplugged as well as both electromag leads unplugged. It does show up on the lcd diagnostic for awd. it flickers on then off.
any ideas please throw me a bone here.
thanks

I "think" the answer to this is in this forum somewhere, seems like this was asked once before and was a common problem. I will see if I can find the thread. In the meantime, maybe someone else will remember it.

Check out this thread. Not sure if it will be the same problem you are having, but this is a common issue for Polaris during this time period.

Hope this helps.

That thread is close. but not the same problem. and I have about 100 hrs an 450 miles on this machine. the shop manual says that it senses when the front wheels turn slower than th rear and then it engages the front hubs. I am just trying to make sure its not electrical before I tear something apart.

Does this model use the sensors in the front hub to engage the 4wd?If it does then I have seen where some trash got in between the sensors and it wouldnt engage.

Also check to make sure there isnt any water in the hubs, heard that can make them not engage also.
