Exclamation polaris sportsman tranny ?

i have just purchased a 1998 sportsman 500. i drained the tranny fluid and it was a grayish white color, i put in new polaris transmission fluid. it was purple when i put it in. after about ten minutes of riding i checked the level and it had also turned grayish white. is this normal, the trans seems to work fine.

Sounds like there was water in the fluid to begin with. Wait and see what others say but that would be my guess.

Are you sure that you got "all" the old fluid out and didn't leave even a little?

Sounds like water, may have to change it several times to get all of the water out.

If there was water in the fluid to start with then you will have to change it a few times to get it all out.
