Brand new brake pads already shot!!!!

Ok, here's the break down.
Bought new brake pads for both of my bikes. I put the aftermarket brand on my bike first (TEST RUN) in case I broke anything but all went well.

I put the Yamaha factory pads on my wifes bike. And this is were I am having the problem. I put them on 1 day before we went on a ride during the memorial day weekend. During the weekend her brakes quit working but only on the right side of the bike (If your sitting on the bike). so today I pulled the right wheel off thinking that the calliper was shot. But to my surprise I found that the brake pad was worn down to nothing!!!!

So my question is.........

Did I do something wrong during the installation to make them do this? Someone please help!!!!!

Nate is it the front and rear? My suspicion is they were to tight and all that running around wore them down. I wonder if you caliper is release properly.

Sounds like a caliper not releasing properly... but all that sand and mud we were in probly didn't help much either.

I'd replace em with the EBC severe duty pads... and when you push the piston back in to make em fit.... test the brake lever to make sure it's moving freely.

i was told to heat them up by slightly holdin the brake while rideing after installing, but i wouldn't think it would kill them after one trip, was the caliper-pad guides lubed
