sunk it

okay guys, need some help. Took the grizzly out on the Canadian River this weekend. Water still a little to deep. I sunk it 2 times. Got it home and drained the tranny and have taken the cover off and cleaned it out. Got water in the motor as the oil is milky. Have drained the oil, but what do I do now? I have heard to keep changing it until I get clean oil, but do I change the filter each time as well? Sure could use all the advise I can get

Don't feel bad I took my 660 grizzly in the creek this weekend for a swim with me also. Drain your differentials until they quit getting milk also. I change my filter alot if I get water in the motor. run thin oil if ur going to change it quickly, and you will want to ride it for a little while and keep checkin it, if milky change filters and oil, they are cheaper than a rebuild. As long as keep checkin your fluids and changing it if needed everthing will be alright. It happens to the best of us.

lew008 said it all, if you do those things you shouldn't have any problems. You may want to clean the carb also just to be safe

Welcome to the I sunk it club. Jeff changed the oil in my old Vinson at least 10 times before he got all the water out. I think he changed filters twice.

when i change the oil in my atvs i keep a couple of gallons of used oil just for flushing the engine just in case my rincon takes on water hasent happened yet but i would bet if i threw that oil out next time i drowned it in a creek my oil would be milk.also change the filter every time you drain the oil filters are cheaper than a rebuild

just a quick update, I changed the oil 10 times last night. I think I got all the water but am not sure. The last sample I got was a little cloudy/bubbly but I think it was air and the temp difference from the sample I poured from the quart itself. How will I know for sure?

If it looks like that , just keep on changing it.
