Okay been fighting with this one a while.. I rebuilt the engine. I know I know Don't even say it...After rebuilding with slightly more compression, adjusting the valves the carb ect. I then rebuilt the carb. I still get less power than before the rebuild. I have adjusted the carb moved the needle richer and leaner with no real change. The last expert I talked to suggested checking the timing gears. The Clymer manual sais to line up the crank case mark then set the cam gear "striaght up". my question is, What is "Straight up"? in line with the cylinder bore which is perpendicular to the top of the cylinder head. Or is "striaght up" perpendicular to the crank case. And no they are not the same.
